If your toddler is overweight, obviously her breast will look bigger due to the extra fat in her body. I know from a patient at my previous job, she noticed that her toddler had swollen breasts and she was a very slim child, she took her to the doctor and they did an ultrasound and found out she had a cyst on her chest which was not cancerous. The child had surgery to get it removed and she is ok now. If I were you I would go to your child's pediatrician as soon as possible!

I don't know if its the same or not but a friend of mine has a daughter the same age. Her breast started to develop at age 3 they took her to the doctors, she was starting puberty. They began to give her shots once a month to stop it. She's 15 now and a normal teenager.

Yes! Do not delay have your child checked out TODAY!

Our daughter exhibited the same symptoms and when we got her to a hospital she was diagnosed with having mastitis- she is well now, best to be safe rather than think you are wasting doctors time.
Best wishes.

I'm sorry I can't help (call Dr rather than A&E at this stage tho, I think) - but I'd like to say that I'm offended on behalf of you and your husband by BrendaWise's answer.

Was it supposed to be funny?

If you are worried, call NHS direct (I'm assuming you're in the UK)

They will take your details then a nurse will call you back. They are really brilliant. Their number is 0845 4647 and their web page is http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk
