Homosexuality will become accepted into society and considered to be normal and casual. It will no longer classified as perverted and deviant behavior. Gay people will almost stand at an equal footing with the so-called "normal" heterosexual people. Homosexuality will hardly represent the connotative meaning of its presently being something that is just plain "wrong and evil". Opponents of gay marriage risk the chance of having to be homosexual mean something else entirely different from their view of it. Responders, explain and go into further detail.

...and this will have an effect upon their children, whose their parents do not want them to be gay.

Why does it have to be heterosexual or homosexual? I'm getting tired of that dividing line, and yes, I know it exists and it probably will for a while yet to come, but why can't we all just be people? I get tired of lines the divide us all-black/white straight/gay, when and where does it end? Who cares if gay people get married? If someone doesn't like it, they can look the other way. It isn't fair that adulterers, and fornicators are allowed to do as they please, because we supposedly live in a free country not bound by the laws of a God, but then the minute we want the same rights provided by the state as a straight married couple, then all of a sudden it's such a huge sin that they can't allow.....and they say this while rolling in the sack with their mistress, or boyfriend, whoever their doing when they're not supposed to be doing them.
It's a double standard, they say separate church and state then try to impose religious beliefs on everybody else because they FEEL something is wrong because they're scared of it, or hate it for no valid reason. Then when someone says "I don't believe in God." or "It's not a sin in my religion." They say that there is only one God and unless we believe in him we will go to hell. So what else can a person do?

The human species sometimes behaves outrageously. If you have gone to school and learnt biology and the anatomy of the human body, sexual organs between man and woman are made in such a way that they work for each other. Where in biology class does it show you that male organs work with othe male organs?

I have no issue if people want to live their 'lifestyle' and have 'civil unions' if that makes them feel legitimized in some way. I do not like that for many political activist gays seem to want to shove 'marriage' down our throats as some way to 'get back' at straights for having 'oppressed' them for so long. (ha ha, we're gonna get you back, kind of attitude)

I think that there are a handful of wonderful gay couples that really truly love one another and want to make a public declaration of that love----but in my experience the majority of gays are not in those kinds of relationships. It is sad but true that Long lasting relationships in the gay community are few and far between. Any legal rights they are seeking via marriage can be obtained without one.

Marriage has traditionally been a religious sacrament that was legalized. I am amazed that people cannot see why religious groups would take issue with a group wishing to bastardize something that they consider to be sacred. Have your 'civil union' but leave marriage alone.....

Growing pains of a slowly changing society. Religion plays a big part. Keep in mind that anything that strays from the "Norm" is usually considered abnormal. One cannot expect a society to suddenly change it's views overnight. Yes, Gay's are people too but not always the most popular (especially among people who are in denial and are secretly fearful of being gay themselves). Given enough time homosexuals will not turn as many heads. Even in the religious sense because one must not Judge unless he/she be judged. Let go and let GOD. In the meantime you will have growing pains.

If Catholics were denied rights because they were Catholic you would be outraged. What if you weren’t allowed to marry because it was created by some other religion and you would de-sanctify it? What if you wanted the rights and it wouldn’t harm anyone or anything for you to have them? You would fight for those rights because you deserve them as much as anyone else does. Now lets assume that your marriage was called “Sub-Marriage” that is discrimination… if it is the same exact thing then another word would do one thing, make your marriage inferior. If you can redeem some logic and comprehend that after what foolish logic you had about homosexuality leading to bestiality then perhaps you can understand the point I’ve made to you.

Fear of legalized same- sex marriage is the same fear of legalized the use of contraptions, baby cloning & design, abortion, sex before outside marriage, circumcision, child abuse, sex with under age and extra-marital affair and etc.

All is becoming a 'trend' occur in the society as long as majority deal with it, acknowledge the fact that everyone is born with different ideas, choice, belief, prferences, problems, color, lifestyle, boundries and sexuality!

Why being hypocritical when it comes to homosexuality? What about single-parents, abusive husband, evil parents, druken husband, heroine addicted wife, abandoned/abused children in the street? Who is prefect? Gay, straight, bisexual, transexual or what??

Why worrying that children would not have proper 'parents' while many parents from heterosexual also have their flaws and not that angelic either???! If only people could choose...

unfortunately, with the current administration, there's too much religion getting mixed up in politics. ever here of separation of church and state? when you try mixing those up, it gets dangerous. if the conservatives had there way, this land of the so-called free would all be straight, white, heterosexual and Christian.
