I believe that he'll return someday, but how can you be so certain? For this question I have to answer no. You never know, but there's no slightest chance to happen on that day!

I didn't realize Christians were basing their predictions on the Aztec calendar now. Way to incorporate other religions.
In case you're wondering what I'm talking about, the ancient Aztec calendar ends at 2012, and for a long time, doomsday people have said that that's the year the world will end.
Gobbelty-****, says I. (lol, I didn't realize that g o o k was considered a swear word.....well, it is a racial slur, but not when preceeded by Gobbelty....but anyway....:P )
After all, if the Aztecs were so smart, why aren't they still around?
And, oh yah, I'm not a Christian, but don't forget about that bible verse that says something like, "No man knows when the master comes." I'd say, even if Jesus *does* exist (I'm an atheist), it's a bit presumptuous to predict the exact date of his return.
Somehow I doubt this'll make best answer ;)

whilst the media enable unfastened the suggestions of the Mayan calendar ending on 2012 many non secular communities have jumped on the preverbial band wagon. whilst this modification into first released, anthropologists and archeaologists tried to be sure why they stopped at 2012. the top got here whilst a broken calendar replace into unearthed close to yet another temple internet site that gave the impression of it had ceremoniously been broken and laid to take a seat back on the foot of it. The calendars ran consecutive in step with 500+ yrs. The final calendar to be in persisted existance replace into got here upon at a dig with a number of issues from the Spanish conquistadors of the 1600 and 1700's. there is documentation of a monk that alter into in observance of the progression of the Calendar interior the late 1600's and made comments of it is meanings with the aid of the natives. they did no longer have a prophecy of the international ending or something to that nature it is only whilst they pronounced whilst a sparkling calendar will could desire to be further by way of attainable enviromental ameliorations and social and non secular monarchy ameliorations. you may circulate to Mexico city and notice the Mayan calendar and all the hot famous that they had got here across below the city from an earthquake in 1985. all the a number of natives of suitable u.s. had some thing comparable and none have been the comparable because of the fact the subsequent. some had 36 year calendars, 2 hundred year calendars, and a few like the only interior the suitable temple in Teotihuacan. They based it on the place they lived and the astrological signs and indications they pronounced. only bear in mind this, have faith no longer something you hear and purely 0.5 of what you notice and continuously examine between the strains. Then do study for the fact. pass it on.

I think there's a statistic out there that almost half the people in the U.S. believe that JC is gonna come down out of the clouds some day, magic powers and all. A good fraction of those believe it will happen within the next 50 years. Proof positive that overbreeding dilutes the gene pool.

The BIble says that no one knows the day nor the hour of the Return. Who told you? I agree with you that is will be SOON, but there is no way to know just when. The verses in Matthew indicate that it will be within 70 years of May 14, 1948, but to get more specific is impossible.

This sounds like "evidence" provided on an X-Files rerun the other night.
Seriously..I watched the show the other night and they stated the end of the world was then. According to the Smoking Man and Mulder.

Jesus in Mark 13:32 said "No one knows the day or the time. The angels in heaven don't know, and the Son himself doesn't know. Only the Father knows."

I see the difference between "Astronomy & Space" and "Religion & Spirituality" eludes you. Whatever...its two points, right?
I'm saying "no", but I'm sure you'll find a way to enjoy the suspense for another six years.

He is returning soon but we don't know when. I have seen a lot of people set dates and they have all been wrong. I don't think that God uses the Mayan calender.
