Did you try changing the spark plugs? I would start there.

Your fuel filter may be getting dirty. Check air filter also. If that doesn't work it may need to be put on a computer. O2, MAP, etc sensors may be going as well.
Auto part stores are starting to to carry the handheld diagnostic machines so you may want to look into that before you pay a shop 40 bucks just to tell you what's wrong.

NEED TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF CAR YEAR,ECT COULD HAVE MULTIPLE CONCERNS BUT IT MAY HAVE A LARGE VACUME LEAK THAT WOULD EXPLAIN HARD START ENGINE REV AND STALL MAY BE AN EGR STUCK OPEN IF THE CAR IS EQUIPED WITH ONE NEED MORE INFO

do you keep the oil changed? YOu might want to make sure your oil line isn't clogged, and check your fuel injectors, too... try swapping out the spark plugs as well. Take her in for a tune up...

Vaccum leak for sure. Check all of your vaccum lines and you'll find several are dry-rotted. Good luck.
