Has anybody read the books of David Gemmell?

Legend was the first book that I read of his and I have continued to read everything by this amazing English author.
I think that his best character is Waylander.
What do you think?

I enjoyed reading the books of David Gemmell but they are all much the same. A lone warrior (possibly along with a warrior woman) meets up with a bunch of warrior monks (who all die) and defeats a barbarian army against the odds at some fortress. Come on, there isn't that much in the way of characterisation, is there? I can't remember one hero from another.
