does lunesta cause weight gain?

I have been taking for about 8 months. I feel bloated and have gained about 10 pounds without changing eating or excersise. Could this med. add weight.

I do not see a reported side effect of what you are experiencing so I would mention this to your doctor, as either something else is going on, or it is a non-reported side effect.

Do you take it on an empty stomach as directed and avoid foods high in fat? If not, it apparently affects the metabolization of this medication. It will definitely reduce its effectiveness if you take it with food. But I would inquire about the possibility of weight gain with a pharmacist.
