i think that while we still have racisim here, it is not as virulent as in many other countries. we are always trying to work on it, ease it, and give opportunities to people still considered in the minority. other countries are still comitting genocide. there will always be race issues wherever you find people who think they are better than others. that's just a fact of life. not everyone is aware that we all are of the same race, being the human one, and should be viewed as connected.sad to say, but it seems that there are some people who can't be reached. it may be because they find it hard to give up their belief, or that they are not superior. anyone that needs to feel better than another group has an identity crises, and probably feels inferior. they need to be cared for too, because they have been harmed in some way.

America is a racist country. I think it probably always will be because the majority of the people that I know are. The thing is, we(the United States) are full of very many races and instead of saying, "To each their own", we find fault with everything. I don't mind anyone being here as long as they want to better themselves and our country.

Remember this is one of a few countries that have so many different cultures, ethnicity's and so on residing underneath it. We have not had a civil war to try to flush anyone else out of our country (even though we have people complain about the different ethnicity's that reside here). I would say more ethnocentric than racist. But we are talking degree. Ethnocentric (the belief that one race is superior) is one level below racist. As long as we have ignorance, we will have some form of racism that exists.

Ask a Native American. This country has been racist since Plymouth rock. Not 100% racist to be sure, alot of decent, caring people have graced this nation but there has always been that racist element

America is as a whole not a racist country. There are only rare cases of racism where people are discriminated slightly.

I think there's a race problem, I think we've gone so far down the road of hyphenated-americanism that we're seeing REVERSE racism. I don't care what color you are, you're not entitled to a free ride as far as I'm concerned. I've worked for what I've gotten in life, such as it is, it's mine, and no, you can't have some just because your great-great-grandfather got scalped by indians or whatever. This whole thing has gotten really stupid, and it's time for reforms, and budget cuts, and the whole country needs to step back and cash a reality check, here. Get off your butt, get a job, dry your eyes, stand up tall, be a grown-up, fend for yourself, help your neighbors if they need it, and stop being a little *****...

racism exists in people not in a society itself.the U.S.A is not a racist country at all some peolpe in it are, as are people in every counrty on the face of the earth. Funny how people consider racism a U.S.A. only problem when extrem act's of racism namely slavery exists in other parts of the world Africa, the middle east and parts of the far east it is most prevalent.personaly some of the most racist people I have met in my life are the ones who profess to oppose it.:)

Nobody with a brain. Any suggestions on how to fix? We Caucasians would like to go about our days without anger, too. We are a racist nation, but not all of US are.
