At 57 I am lucky to have been around when F1 was really great. The likes of Mike Hawthorne, Peter Collins and Striling Moss handling unsophisticated cars, with none of the "refinements" on modern day cars brought their own brand of excitement to the sport.
I can't imagine any of today's drivers being able to handle a high speed car with drum brakes on anything but a fairground ride.
Ecclestone and Moseley are millionaires as a result of F1, but the golden goose won't be laying eggs for much longer if they don't get their noses out of each other's asses and attract the public back. Even ITV are losing ratings due to the public voting with their fingers and opting to watch decent tv!

I love watching F1 but must admit I went to sleep this afternoon! However, the boring races are more than made up by the exciting ones. It is rather like life - some weeeks are boring, some are sad, some are interesting and some are downright thrilling!
What I do during boring races is hope that Michael Schumacher crashes or blows up! (mind you, it did not work today, but being up all night with a daughter who was having an asthma attack - she's okay now! - probably did not help my wakefulness during the race!)

I don't think it's boring to watch, as long as you have a favourite driver. I like Alonso, and I was on the edge of my seat up until the end of the race, hoping that a failure on Scumbagger's car would bring the victory out of Cheaters' HQ.
I'll just say this: I won't watch the next season if Schumacher wins another title and stays in F1.

The first lap has become the only exciting part of the race, followed by lap after lap of tedium. We're at the point now with F1 where they could just let robots drive the cars, and everything could be controlled from the pits.
I've never been a huge fan of Nascar, but I can certainly understand why they enjoy it. It might just be 4 left turns (except for road courses), but at least cars pass one another.

The first couple of laps of a Formula 1 race are all that are good. After that, the field gets spread out without much action. I guess it would be more exciting if one were watching it live, but on TV I prefer other forms of racing.

Painted a wall while f1 was on tv watching the wall was far more intriging than modern f1 and the paint did actually dry but was a littled dissapointed that I couldn't watch any action replays next time I'll film the whole process then I can play it back

You have to remember that there usually are a lot more racers in a motoGP then in F1, so of course it would be more exciting.
Still, F1 is a lot more better to watch then something like Nascar.

Got sick of it some years ago when they started changing all the rules and taking the edge off of it, used to be exciting stuff, annual trips to Silverstone were something I really looked forward to, don't even watch it now.

I like to watch the second hand go round and round on my watch...54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59....endlessly fascinating. Yeah, F1 sucks.
