my ex has 4 kids with 3 different guys and does not take care of any of them. she only picks them up when she feels like it, is not involved in their lives and goes from boyfriend to boyfriend and leaves them alone at home when she has them (they are only 5 and 7)and she drinks and drives with them in the car. i just want my two kids to have a semi-normal live. i want them to have a relationship with their mother, but i want them to be save and on a schedule. my wife does everything their mother does not do; from school, to doctor visits to playdates.....but the california court system is always on the mothers side. everything me and my wife do is in the best intrest of the kids but it does not seem to make a difference in the courts eyes. i just dont know what else to do. i know there has to be other dads in the same situation.....

First of all, if your wife is a good mother, don't even try. My ex tried fighting me for custody for almost 2 years and it backfired on him, he came off as looking like an abusive control freak. A good man believes kids should be with their mothers. They will put their own feelings aside for the children's sake.

as for the comments of all the others above, NONE of them answered your question they were just hitting you where it hurts. I haven't seen my child in 7 yrs, due to the mother moving every 6 months because of lack of ability to keep a place stable. I'm not able to afford the court cost due to current wife health. I can't file for visitation or custody as of yet

don't go to a website stupid, go to a lawyer. unless you are trying to get custody for your own selfish reasons. you don't sexually abuse your own kids do you. thats sick if you do. why else would you want a website.if you were sure you had a good reason to take custody from their mother, you would already be at a lawyers office.no wonder your wife left you. you need a psycologist & a lawyer.

There aren't any. Please, please ask yourself what is in the best interests of the children. If you conclude that you having custody is definitely in THEIR best interests, talk with an attorney and do whatever needs to be done to accomplish the task.
