As others have said, avoid Dell like the plague. You might also consider laptops from Toshiba and Acer. But those two were some of the first results that met MY requirements.

iam so good with computers so if u wanna buy something good look for compaq computers but be sure the model isint older than persario 2500 or look for lg computers there also strong hp isint bad 2..and be sure than ram is not ower than 215 cpu not lower than 1.6 and be sure the screen card is also not lower than 128 and ur laptop well be just fine for years and it wont cost u more than 1000 dell is so expinsive and bad also toshiba isint perfect at all if u wanna buy ..just get HP LG compaq or apple

Buy a brand new Toshiba!
For that money you can get a very good model.
Go to Toshiba.com and check out for yourself.
Or go to ebay.com they have a good collection of laptops too.

I don't know the best one but have beem told not to get a Dell because if it needs anything doing to it has to go back to Dell

i cant say an exact model as things change so quickly, the best bet is a toshiba laptop or sony they are so reliable and excellent value.
