Check to be sure that your parking brake is fully released. The Daytime Running Lights go off if the parking brake is set. It may aslo be a bad switch on your parking brake.

Hi
GM trucks and SUV with running lights are notorious for not working properly.I see them daily and rarely see one that has both lights on. A friend of mine has a 96 Silverado and he has replaced the bulbs many times and even the light assembly. I think he finally gave up and just leaves them off because one side is usually burned out anyway. Its just another flaw GM never corrected.

a pair of issues it could desire to be is GM lkes to place a kill turn on the DLRs linked to the ebrake pedal. So no DLR's whilst the ebrake is on. it is a threat. the different is the DLR module itself. various the time getting an o.e.m unit and puting it in is extra much less costly than troubleshooting the only that is in there. Canadian Tire has them for 26 dollars. I take it you're Canadian because of the fact DLR's are not required in any state i understand of extra. right here in Canada the DLR is linked to the intense beams. it is advisable to look on the ambient easy sensor. I did some finding up on OEM direct . and in specific situations it is the physique administration module yet which will depart a code and in all possibility a verify engine easy. various information seems to point to the easy sensor. I;d could desire to have the vehicle in my hands to help you to any extent further

If it were me, I'd leave it that way. You use more gas with lights on.
