The truth, the real truth . . .
If deer are really hungry they will browse, eat, gooble-up almost everything and anything with a leaf.
You can slow them down to a degree but you must be diligient about this.
On the market today are several different types of liquid sprays that you apply directly to the plant material--- e.g. "liguid fence" is one of them. The key-pay attention. You must use more than one of them and you must rotate them on your plants that are the target of these hungry deer.
Follow the directions, rotate them accordingly, and hope for the best.
btw; most of the products smell nasty when 1st applied but the odor subsides for the human nose . . . good luck.

This is the real way to keep deer away from areas that you do not want them in.
Go to a barber shop once a month and get a garbage bag of hair clippings. Sprinkle the clippings around the plants you want the deer to stay away from. You can also spray a weak mixture of Vanilla on the plants. Deer can not stand the smell of human hair or Vanilla. In another area, plant some things that deer really enjoy eating, like peas or clover, or rye grass. Put some corn out for them in that area also.

Southern States sells a good deer deterent, however, even they tell you if the deer are hungery, they will eat it. Sorry but the only really effective way I know is a huge fence at least 12 feet high. Where I am they do not allow deer hunting and we have this problem all the time. I wish I had a better idea.

My parents were having the same problem with their garden until they put up an electric fence. It consisted of only one electric wire about 2 feet off the ground. I think the deer can hear the buzz and stay away.
Are you sure it's deer and not rabbits?

I heard to use big cat (lions, tigers) manure scares deer away. I guess you could purchase it from a garden center, though I've never sought it out.

chicken wire, they don't like to walk on it. mow, rake, lay it flat, secure it flat, hooves and chicken wire don't mix. last a long time.
human hair from a barber shop works for deer without human contact, but its hard to find deer that hasn't had human contact.

You can get some organic stuff at your local nursery or hardware store that will keep them out. My parents live in the country and that is what my mom does. But I don't know the name of it.
