I think that English lower league clubs have priced their players out of the market by asking ridiculous fees as soon as they know a premiership club is interested. Now only the very best will be picked up. The name of the game in the Premiership is instant success and so they won't take a gamble on English league players but will pay for a player of proven ability from abroad.

The premiership has never been a great place for Italian players due to the totally different style of play.
I feel maybe Gattuso and Toni may do well in the premiership and have no doubt that English strikers could learn a lot from coming up against players like Cannavaro but I don't think Juve will let people have a car boot sale with their players.
At the end of the day it is a big gamble for any premiership teams to take the players, unless they can get them at a very cheap price.
P.S. I hear a lot of the Juventus players have relegation release clauses in their contract which would let them leave for free.

I see it as once in a lifetime opportunity that will make the Premiership the most interesting and best league in the world over the next couple of years.
Still, it remains to be seen how many of those Serie A players will end up in England.
As for developing domestic players, yes, I think there needs to be more focus on this. However, as one contributor pointed out Chelsea's spending power is destabilizing everything.

i think a few players might well end up on loan to premiership clubs. generally though, i think the italian teams will try to keep hold of their best players, and loaning them out would enable them to keep the players happy while still retaining their services for when they get promoted up again.

Its all Chelsea's fault nobody can buy anyone at a normal price. Clubs just tell other clubs, oh Chelsea are interested in him, that'll be another £10 million please!!!!
