I'd feel pretty upset to , some people don't think before they speak, or critize and stuff with out caring about what the cosiquience will be, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but somethings just aren't meant to be said...I''ll leave it at that..enjoy your music

I don't hate rap. As a matter of fact, I'm angry with rap at the moment. I'm old school, and I remember back in the day when it wasn't about bling or degrading women or bragging about money. I'm so dissapointed in today's hip-hop that I could spit whenever I hear some of the trash that's being played on '8-songs-a-day-rotation' urban stations. Where is the spirit of hip-hop? Oh, I forgot. Puffy bought it back in '94. Ever since, it's been all about money, bling, and bragging, with no attention paid to artisticness and integrity. The sad part is, you DO have rappers who are true to the craft (no, not those pretentious artier-than-thou snobs like Kanye West, Common, or Talib Kweli), but they are ignored because they aren't down with bling and whatnot. Anyway, I'm done venting. Hope I shed some light for you.

Man are you ever feeling passion about something - you turn that passion into something to start helping others and you will be walking in the steps of Martin Luther King. I feel you - I agree - to each his own. Me personally I LOVE old Motown, Al Green, Teddy Pendergrass, David Ruffin. Now my mother (who is 58) LOVES R&B and rap, Nelly, Usher, 50 cent, etc. Too funny right - it should be the other way around. Every time I get in her car (and mind you she is a grandmother - and a white grandmother at that) I have to turn down her system because she is cranking some hip-hop station. You have to laugh at that image. But I don't diss her for her choices - she's evolved with what Motown started, she's why I started listening to Motown in the first place. While I stay with the original masters she's moved on to the ,what I refer to as, the rawness of where it came from.

If you post a question or comment in a public forum you had better be prepared for all kinds of responses. The world is full of people who get a kick out of being rude or critical. It is unfortunate but true and I have seen this more and learned that there are more and more people like this since I began using the internet many years ago. People are allowed to have a different opinion than yours and sometimes they don't put it into words with the most couth or most kind way but that's the way it is when you deal with the "real" world.

I know - I hate it when people insult other's music!! They are selfish and narrowminded, thinking that if they think rap is crap, it is. Even though I don't care much for rap, there are some great rappers out there that I really like.

That right. If people don't like rap, it's their problem and their OPINION.
