You mean "What are Genetic Algorithms?"
Genetic algorithms are inspired by Darwin's theory of evolution. Solution to a problem solved by genetic algorithms uses an evolutionary process (it is evolved).
Algorithm begins with a set of solutions (represented by chromosomes) called population. Solutions from one population are taken and used to form a new population. This is motivated by a hope, that the new population will be better than the old one. Solutions which are then selected to form new solutions (offspring) are selected according to their fitness - the more suitable they are the more chances they have to reproduce.
This is repeated until some condition (for example number of populations or improvement of the best solution) is satisfied.

A genetic algorithm (GA) is a search technique used in computer science to find approximate solutions to optimization and search problems. Specifically it falls into the category of local search techniques and is therefore generally an incomplete search. Genetic algorithms are a particular class of evolutionary algorithms that use techniques inspired by evolutionary biology such as inheritance, mutation, selection, and crossover (also called recombination).
Genetic algorithms are typically implemented as a computer simulation in which a population of abstract representations (called chromosomes) of candidate solutions (called individuals) to an optimization problem evolves toward better solutions. Traditionally, solutions are represented in binary as strings of 0s and 1s, but different encodings are also possible. The evolution starts from a population of completely random individuals and happens in generations. In each generation, the fitness of the whole population is evaluated, multiple individuals are stochastically selected from the current population (based on their fitness), and modified (mutated or recombined) to form a new population. The new population is then used in the next iteration of the algorithm
