Better to have a good man that is late than a bad one who is always on time.
He might be late for a good reason.
Maybe he had just been delayed because he had to help someout out & it took a few minutes more?

A woman should because time and women are not the same (u wanted reasons why women should, so I'm giving u them even if I don't agree with them, which I do. Read on and you'll see what I mean).
~Men need women to survive. Without women, the entire human race would be wiped out, and time would seem so much more insignificant when we're all dead.
~Men need us to wait for them because they r so much slower than us at stuff. They cant remember aniversaries, birthdays or even to pick up the dry cleaning, which is why they have us to give them a sharp poke to remind them.
~Men are like dogs (no offence to dogs), loveable, dopey, and kind of sweetly stupid. Dogs are trained to sit, stay etc. by their owners. It takes a long time to teach dogs anything, meaning the owner has to wait for them to learn it. In this metaphor, the owners are the women, and the tricks represent anything that women have to wait for men to catch up on.

I don't total agree with the concept because I think it's a little sexist, but I have heard speculation that the biological urge for a woman to reproduce is accompanied by other instinctive behaviors, such as needing to find a good provider for her and her future family. I think the whole idea is a little too "hunter/gatherer" to be applied to modern humans, but it's all I've got for an answer.

This is an aberration of the original saying, so why are you making it sexist? But, to answer your query, a woman is crazy to waste her time waiting for a man who probably never will show up.

Only reason I can think of is if he is in the military and stationed somewhere else, that's a good reason to wait for a man, other than that, there ain't no reason!!
