There are 5 in my party and I was wondering if it would be more worthwhile renting a car to go to Cape Sounion, instead of getting on a tour bus. Will traffic be bad, and how is parking like once we get to Cape Sounion?

Only if you are a good driver.Yes there is a parking there but AVOID weekends cause there is terrible traffic. If I were you I would go in the morning although Sounion is known for the beautiful sunset. So you will be independent but you will loose the guided tour which is interesting.Have fun!

Well, you don't have to take a tour bus. You can take KTEL, the city bus, for about 8 Euro roundtrip per person. You can pick it up on Fillenon and Nikis streets, near Syntagma. I think it would be more advisable to do that rather than renting a car or taking a tour bus.

Sur! Its not far from Athens, and if you are good driver why not?.
If you are english is a bit difficult cause i thing you drive in the right side .But finally the great view of temple of Posseidon will be fantastic!. Prefer the sunset time, if you are romantic,
and yes weekends has more traffic, especially in summer time.

Definitely!
Having rent a car to go around, you should visit Sounion.
Swim at some place there. Enjoy some dinner (small fresh fish got from the sea there) and Admire the sunset from the Temple of Sounion! SUPER!

Yes, rent a car. Only drive carefully, the road to Sounio is beautiful but has dangerous binds. You can swim on the way, too.

It depends on your driving skills. I would not rent a car in Greece, Spain and Italy, because traffic there (in big cities) scares me even after driving in Paris for few years.

first of all don't worry about parking...the traffic depends on days and time...as mentioned above AVOID weekends...the only thing that remains is to be careful, the road isn't the best you've seen, has many turns
