When does it start, and who is qualified, is it the first four of last season?
Also, how can the players play in both the uefa champions league and the fa premier league at the same time?

English League, Italian and Spainish league are allocated 4 places. But only the top 2 finishers of the previous season are automatically into the Champion's League for next season.3rd place and 4th place needs to qualify playing against champions from smaller nations like slovenia / cyprus / Finland / Iceland etc. Remembered when Liverpool won the Champions League, they did not finished in the top 4 that season so they had to qualify for this years Champions league even though they were the defending champ. But UEFA has since amended their rules in case the champion of Champion's League do not finish in the top 2 or 4 in their respectively League, then the team that finishes forth (In England for Example , where 4 slots are allocatted) will have to give way to the Defending champ. Some nations may only be given 2 places .

The Qualification depends on the League. The english premier league has (I think so, not sure) 4 places, that means, the first four from the season are qualified.
In Germany, the first two are qualified, the third has to go into the qualification.
Players can play in both leagues as the qualified teams play both in the national league (premier league) and the champions league.

The winners and usually the runners up of national leagues in europe.For example in england the top 3 automatically qualify while 4th place goes into a play off game to qualify and if they lose that they go into the uefa cup,which is europes 2nd cup competition.The fa premier league is englands national competition and so the winners of that automatically qualify to play in the champions

team that qualify for the champion league is four but not excitedly qualify listen if you i fourth place at the end of the season you played other team chosen by Ufa in other European league that came forth or third will pale other forth or third place rounder up after the season if you lose that match you go to the Ufa cup.

If the winner of the league cup already has a european place the place goes to the next avaliable league spot, not the runner up and not either of the semi-finalist losers. Personally I think they should give it to Spurs for coming so close.

thers no rule. in each country its diffrent! for example in italy first 4 teams can qualify and in bundesliga first 2 teams. of course 3th team should play some easy games to qualify.
