First time that you feel like part of a global comunity, you answer a question for someone who is perhaps on the other side of the globe.
You state opinions , comunicate, make confrontation of atitudes ,ideas, lives on the global scene.
I love to answer a question that will perhaps someone give a fresh view unfettered by some emotions, from distance. I and I do feel gratified in a thought that my answer helped someone to resolve an issue.
It feels good to be a part of humanity, unfortunatly the barier for greater part of the world is english, which also is not my native language, so you must try hard to find verbs, times, expresions, to verbalize your thought on a foreign language.
I hope that this project will stay on the global scene, and that this is a begining of global closeness and not divisions.
We many times have oposite views, but here you can see the differences, and apreciate them, or not.
Simple questions are fun, but there are some realy tough ones, when you think about them you understand that you never thought about that, but now you are making a statement, it is yours, you realy think that, but you never before had time for that path of thoughts.
So yes it is addictive, it trains my mind to think on different perspectives, and find that there are some pretty smart people in this world that are not exposed on media, and sometimes you think that maybe not everybody is stupid, and that humanity still has a chance.

I think it's because we all love a story, and we all have one to tell. In here no one can stop you or shout you down. There it is like it or not. The timid have as much chance of being heard as would the brazen. That's very addictive in my opinion. It's like a true freedom in that you need not fear consequence for your very own thoughts. Heady stuff that. I wonder if it will last.

It's the points. There's always someone with just a few more points than you, you have to get ahead of them.
If there were no points, and more specifically no leaderboard, this would not be as popular a web site.

Reading so many stupid questions from so many stupid people who are totally illiterate in their attempt to write just has to be addictive. It's like participating in a train wreck without getting your hands dirty.

Maybe it's because every minute you're here, something new and interesting pops up and it's hard to resist that. Or maybe it's because of the points system. Those are just my guesses.

Asking questions eases confusion and places us back in a more stable state.
And we all know how addictive stability is!

I think its because its something that is somewhat the first of its kind. Yes, the internet is a pool of knowledge, but where else do you get it like you do here?
