my parents dont let me wear make up and i am going into the 8th grade?

I have to put it on and then hurry to take it off befor they see im getting tired of doing that i cant buy my own make up its also if i dont where it i feel horable and ugly

Why are some parents so strict with their kids?

If my 14 yr old daughter wants to wear makeup, that's fine with me!!! I see NO problem. Just so long as she doesn't look like a CLOWN or HOOKER!!! LOL

First of all you should not feel horrible and ugly without makeup. That's a terrible thing to say because I am sure that you aren't. However I understand why you feel the way you feel and why your parents feel how they do. My mother let me wear makeup in 8th grade and I was wearing dark brown lipstick and harsh black eyeliner. Your parents probably don't want you looking like that (and I don't blame them) but I would sit down calmly with them (to show that you are mature) and explain to them that you just want to wear a little and ask your mother to help you choose something that would look nice on you. Maybe if you stroke their ego it might work in your favor.

I used to wear loads of cosmetics. Mostly 4 shock 2 suss people out. I would use highlighters! Not just 4 vanity, it's defense. When I had to tone it down I used natural colours ,They covered my freckles that I hated cos I looked like a speckled egg. But a bit of foundation, concealer, powder, eye pencil and lip gloss, helps with confidence & makes u feel good about urself mataurer, b more reliable, responsable. Make Up makes a smile inside shine bright inside.

I'd say that if you're not planning on finding a husband and getting married in the next couple of months (and I'm hoping/assuming you're not) then a lot of hoopla over makeup is mostly just that.......hoopla. Listen to your parents. Right now you don't need a serious boyfriend, save the good stuff for your husband. Most everybody else isn't going to be too worried about your lack of makeup. Take good care of your skin, eat healthy, and worry about it in a few more years.

chelsea I understand how you feel it's difficult when parents do not act as if they understand what you are going through because they are past that point of their lives.

I advise you sit your Mom down and discuss how you feel inside and try to compromise on some make-up.

Be calm and express openly how you feel to your Mom without crying or having a mini-fit.

This way she will take you serious and may compromise with you.

She may teach you how to apply ,make-up so you are not using too much.

the trick is to put it on so it doesn't look like anything is there try just some foundation and cover up and maybe some lip gloss it looks very natural, you can cover up any flaws and imperfections, and no one will know your wearing it.
