It's great that people are more cautious these days, then say, in the Adventurous 80's...It's great that we are more aware of the dangers that involve sex with a stranger and safe sex is gaining popularity!

Sexual adventure? I'm sure there are many sexual adventures out there if you want it. The prolific nature of HIV probably calmed are somewhat post-60s promiscuous society.... at a time when homosexuality was increasingly accepted & we decided it was ok to sleep around afterall...it was quite a dizzy time. And the shock that too much of a good thing can be fatal was part of the natural order of things.... so now we're aware of HIV... but do we remember all the other STDs we could catch alongside? Probably not. And are we all really practicing safe sex? I doubt it.

Condoms aren't enough by themselves, though they help. There are a few more things to learn that will make risk much lower than 1 percent ... and a lot of places to learn them.
The only way to zero the risk is no sex. But all life has some risk in it - only the grave is secure.
