I had a horrible experience with a midwife when i went into hospital with severe bleeding resulting in premature labour. The midwife kept pressuring me to tell her what i had taken and told me that the reason i was bleeding and going into premature labour was because of the drugs i had taken which i could understand if i took any drugs i never have in my life i explained this and she just mumbled somethin about it being my baby i was damaging. I later found out from a student midwife that there had been a mistake and that a part of someone else's notes were put in with mine , no aplogies or anything and i didnt see the first midwife again. As if i wasnt going through enough as it was

Well it wasnt my doctor or midwife but one of my nurses...it was even at the hospital that I worked at!!! I worked on the maternity floor of the hospital that I gave birth at and I never worked with this women but have seen her around...and when i was in full labor around 3 in the morning and she was working the 7p-7a shift...she wouldnt give me anything but tyneyol for the pain and wouldnt call my doctor and when i tried calling my doctor all i got was his voice mail( as i know it he was delivering another baby at that time) but she was soooooo rude and if she was a good nurse then she would of know what drugs that I could take...also she didnt believe me when i told her that i work there too even though I knew everyone else that came to my room!

O my god!!! Yes!
I was very young and naive once...I've since learned. I had a high risk pregnancy because of high blood pressure and toxemia. I love my midwives during the visits and such but I thought I'd have the doc for the birth especially since I was high risk...but noooooo
I called my midwife and told her my B.P. was super high and she told me to go in the hospital...they decided that night was the night to have the baby, I was 5 weeks early and they had told me they wanted to wait a week to make sure the baby's lungs were developed all the way...so nervous was an understatement...a day and a half went by, it was easter I hadn't eaten in 24 hours, I was 234lbs. It was 11:30pm and they decided ok time to start pushing...When the baby didn't come out they had me doing some crazy *** **** like standing on the bed holding my body weight up and I remember how bad that hurt everytime my blood pressure cuff took my pressure blood went up my iv and killed!!! So after a ton of little circus tricks they had me do. I kept saying can we do something else, in my mind a c-section, but I was so scared to ask them. They did not want to call the doc. SO after an hour and half of no pain killer and trying to push this baby who did not want to come out that way...they call the doc...oh and after my mom bitched them out.
So he shows up and says what the hell is that damn thing...the crazy circus stuff...not like anything I'd ever seen before! HE takes this bar off the bed and has me lay down like a "normal pushing" position and he says try to push, he says well this baby ain't coming out this way and five seconds later they are prepping the operating room for a c-section...
Lesson: I have the right to have a baby come out of me anyway I want it to. I will not go through this a second time...
Oh and the baby was born 5 weeks early and guess what, one of her lungs were not developed fully so she couldn't breathe on her own, they took her away from me, I never got to see or hold her and they had to take her to a NICU was at another hospital...I didn't get to hold her until she was two days old. She spent 7 days in the NICU and thankfully was very healthy and has been since. She was the biggest baby in that NICU, at 6 lbs. and 10 oz.
anyway that's my story!
I would never never never go to that doctor again or have a midwife ever again...
I'm in the process of trying to get pregnant again and my doctor is wonderful and I am hoping for an entire different situation!

When i had My fisrt child, i got stuck in a room with a nurse who had the nerve to tell me that i put my self in this position and that to qiut whining and had alot of other negative things to say because i was an 18 year old single mom, now remember, this was my first child, so i turned and asked her if she had any kids, how did you make it, she said she didn't have any, i think the only reason i didn't get kicked out of the hospital was because i was in labor, but i'll tell you this much, she left with a black eye and no job...

Well... I haven't. My doctor was an insensitive a**hole, but I had a c-section. My second child will be born in October. BUT I wanted to tell you that when my nephew was born 9 1/2 years ago, my sister and her mate were in the delivery room and 11 family members were in the waiting room. It was New Years Day at like 7:30 in the morning. (vacant hospital, dern near) and NOBODY came to tell us the baby was born!!! We saw the doctor in her street clothes with her purse in one hand and a cigarette in the other walking down the hall turn and smile at us, UH, you got something to TELL US, crazy lady!?!?! It was so stupid.

My niece had one...the doctor was not her regular doctor, and was rude, so she ordered him out of the room...the nurses had to deliver the baby, and it turned out fine.
