MOUNTAINEERING is more boring, much longer in duration. more monotonous, more time wasting and much more luck dependent than cricket.
Moreover, It's the most dangerous sports. Ther's no statistics, no competition, no quiz contest on it, no trophy, no world cup, no coach system, no running commentary, no live coverage on TV.
There's no other mountain, higher than Mt Everest, to climb to beat the record of Tenzing and Hillary.
But the Most significant of all : there's not a single SPECTATOR
to watch what you're doing.

So, do u mean that u don't like Poker or any Card Game? Aren't they luck ? And by the way, where did u get luck in Cricket? Yes, there's a slight luck which is created by the players themselves. It is the luck which embellish the game of cricket. Cricket does have the same amount of luck as do soccer, football, basketball or any other game have. All these lucks are similar created by the players.
Haven't u seen the WC? Haven't u see that Brazil has been defeated (!) Do u wanna mean that in every game other than cricket only a particular player/team wins through all his career! U might want so in every game. But unfortunately as long as word GAME is there the word luck is immortal.

Yes I agree with you in the context of TESTS and ODI's only. But twenty - 20 matches are very exciting though the are luck dependant, 20-20 matches gives entertainment as well as wastes less time than ODI's and Tests.
Really though cricket has lot of fans, it is a time taking, boring game if played between different strengthed teams. But if the match is between same level opponents then it will worth time wasting.
Some one over here talked about world cup in tests. That is really ridiculous to have world cup in tests.
In all most of the matches depend on the pitch as you know that a test will be a draw if it is a heaven for batsman and vice versa for bowlers. So this game depends on all the quantities as you mentioned in equal proportions.
Hope you like this.

Well about 20 answers above mine - they said it all.
But I want add my two cents. Cricket is boring as long as one does not understand how the game is played
It is long duration - yes and millions follow it, even the longer version of the game (for 5 days) - that itself speaks about its popularity. You can't expect those many people to follow a boring game.
Any game you take will be played under certain rules. The mere system of play can not be called monotomous. Similarly every game has its winners needing a share of luck and other factors.
The mere un-predictability of any game is the point of interest. If everything is predictable, then no game needs to be played.
Look at you - despite wanting to prove a point against cricket, the game had you spend time thinking about it. But unfortunately you really did a poor job.
- You spent LONG DURATION trying to get some facts.
- You WASTED TIME as your facts are not upto date. (Cricket no longer is played for 6 days)
- Your question is BORING and MONOTONOUS as you were saying the same thing again and again
Tell us all which game do you find really interesting

first you update your self. you are in 21st century and now a days cricket has two versions: test which ends in 5 days and one-day internationals which ends within a day. more ever this game is not boring like soccer, hockey and other games the team which plays better wins the match. i agree with you that there is match fixing in this game but only few players who give priority to money above the game do that and some times you have to do it because you are forced to do so. even in soccer what has happenned in league matches in italy that there was match fixing for few matches. so you wanna say that sooccer is won by fixing.
even in soccer the team who play well will win by luck, by chance.
in soccer also if the matches are of the preliminary round then the teams accepts the draw. so ---ANYTEAM,
---NOTEAM,
---EVERYTEAM
---BOTHTEAM
what you say about it even gana can defeat chek republic of russia
what about running with a ball from one corner of ground to another, passing it to one another, kicking another player instead of ball, which is not the case in cricket.
i am not one who don't like football, i equally like both the games.

Congratulations!!
Your question has won the Yahoo Answers "Worst question of the year " award for 2006!
The jury particularly admire your highly inept use of cut & paste techniques, causing an unreadable and highly confusing mess of a question. And, whilst a lack of skill with the English language is a given for this award, you have shown a particularly poor standard of basic comprehension which has astounded us all.
Well done again. You have reached a new low in the history of this website.

Order of list: 1 being the most boring......
1) Golf
2) Nascar or any other motor sports watched on Tv. I mean what is the point of watching cars zoom by and they keep doing it for hours, I would prefer being in the staidum/ arena.
3) Darts
4) Curling
5) and sadly...sometimes even Baseball ( the cousin of cricket)

yah yah, whatever. But did you notice that every time they throw its diffrent than the other throws, unlike baseball. In base ball you hit it to same spot or you'll get a ball. Cricket needs more strategy, unlike baseball just swing. I tottally agree that 5 days match(Test Match) ARE boring but ODI and twenty/20 is fun to watch and exiting. I would say football(american and european), baseball, basketball and golf are all boaring than cricket.
