It really depends on a few things:

1) What vibe are you guys after?

2) Should it be a food and drinks place or just food or just drinks?

3) Do you want to have a dance as well?

4) If you want music, what kind of music should it be?

There's a little place in a little out of the way alley that I like:

It looks a bit posh from the site but take it from me, they're a friendly bunch and they don't have a nasty door policy - so your friends should be find to get it.

Avoid it on Fridays from 5 to about 8 as it can get a bit "suit city". Otherwise, it's a great little place to chill out with mates.

You could always try along the Docklands or in and around the Casino there are plenty of good places to go .......

www.docklands.com.au, then go into the dining area they have a great variety on the site to choose from, and you can also book online.

all depends on how old she is turning,

check out some of the night clubs in there,

Or Luna Park in st. Kilda is always a popular choice :)
