Materazzi. Trash talk goes on in other sports, like pro basketball. Zidane should have ignored Materazzi no matter how bad the trash talk was getting. Its just a strategy to get into the opponants head and Zidane gave in. It was an effective strategy by Materazzi, like it or lump it.

I dont call it an issue of support. I think there is no place on the pitch for saying deeply hurtful things to other players, and I also believe the pitch isnt a place for violence. If you have idolized athletes to the point where you expect them to be perfect, I think YOU'RE the one with a serious problem. Zidane and Materazzi both are HUMAN BEINGS, they are allowed to make mistakes. Every man has his limits. Instead of teaching children to look at these people as those who should do no wrong, teach them that people make mistakes and what matters is what you do after that mistake and deal with the consequences. For example, Zidane apologized. Anyone can do something wrong, but it takes a man to admit hes wrong.

zidane is an idiot who needs to learn to control his anger. this isnt even the first time that hes received a red card for fighting and being violent.

i definitely support materazzi. people talk trash all the time. they do it in the heat of the game...im sure zidane has said plenty himself...it just takes a better man to ignore it and use his anger to play more aggressively. zidane showed that he was certainly NOT the bigger man.

besides, if materazzi was trying to kick zidane out by getting him angry, why would he wait till the last 10 minutes of the match??? thats just silly. zidane is just a fool.

Materazzi...he didnt say anything racist to him, he got into a little argument with Zidane on the feild. Almost every player in the world cup has been insulted by another player at one point or another but how many of them go and head-but someone.

I support Zidane.. But i think that he should not do that even though he's angry... But ... It's Materazzi who started that first, insulting Zidane's sis & mum, saying harsh words to Zidane... So I still support Zidane...
