soil, soil, soil . . .

Are they in a rich well-drained soil?????

btw, Gallardia are a short lived perennial-which is there only drawback. They are usually very hardy, tough, take dry conditions.

I am surprised, but what kills most perennials (homeowners) is they plant in un-amended soil, poor drainage, the plant then declines.

We had the same problem. The only thing that worked was half-strength application of Miracle-Gro (or similar plant liquid feed) twice a week. If this doesn't work they are in the wrong type of soil and won't grow at all because the conditions are not right for them.
