If your first language is English, you are dyslexic and also possible have dyscalcula. There are tests available for both of these which will confirm if this is the case or not. If it is, you will never excel at English or maths but you can be shown methods of coping and techniques which will make it easier for you.

You don't mention your age. If you are still at school you need to talk to your teacher about this. If you are older drop in to a local college and see if there are any adult support workers who can help or advise. If you have dyslexia or dyscalcula extra tuition by someone who is not specialised or aware of the issues will be wasted money or time as they will simply try explaining and drilling you in the methods to which you have already failed. You need a new approach, not the old one repeated.

Good luck, you are clearly working at this and will, with the correct help , improve.

it sounds to me like you have mathermaticsfobia... the best way to come over your fear is to face it. Instead of getting another tutor, why don't you get a close friend to help you? You may be more comfortable and it would help you get the load off of your chest if you tell them. And don't freak out during exams.... if your scared, just take a deep breath. Read the questions slowly and try to make sense of it all. If you don't know how to answer the first few questions, just skip them and try to get back to tham later if you have time. Plus, try asking your teachers questions duing the lesson so that you can get the material right away without falling behind. And don't be embarassed about this for your not the only person in the world who has mathematicsfobia.... (",)

hi my name is ishan.i can help u in this.
maths is not a subject for cramming.of course u need to cram up certain formulae.but u go to the tutions.when u come back from tutions or schools take up one chapter.start solving the sums one by one.refer the guides available or the tution notes.write each sum thrice continuously.do it by seeing the solution.if u feel the sum is hard enough then write it five times until u come to know it's method.like this practice maths everydayfor about an hour alone.take a simple chapter first, then a tough one, then a simple one.so on..

i am sure u would be able to do good in maths.u can contact me on ishan8444@yahoo.co.in
thanks.

Thats the problem with math! It would be so much easier if they could just get rid of the nubers. Those nubers mess everything up! I hate math and the like very much, except for geometry...Geometry is gooder, cause we can make pretty circle and designs... Yeah!

If you stink while doing your homework, take a good shower or use lots of perfume or sumtin'

Damn those noobers!!!!! I hate Nooooobers!!!!

Ask your tutor to forget about your current lessons and ask him/ her to assess what u do know. Go back to the basics and explain them to your tutor who will correct u if u are wrong. Math lessons build upon each other so the foundation/ basics are the most important. Dont worry u'll improve. Though u learn a lot of Math only the basics are really important. whats your career?

Bolts out of the blue do occur, so lightning is still a small possibility, More likely it might have been a meteor, or even possibly an auroral flash in the ionosphere. It is also possible if the flash were still a point source of light, it may have been simply the atmosphere acting as a lens for an otherwise dim star.

somehow, i'm feeling your prob, becoz i was in your place before this, in my school years.. i started to hate math indirectly because i hated all my math teachers in my primary school years, because they like to call students to do the math calculation on the chalkboard in front, plus there were tons on math homeworks & schoolworks too causing me to stayback after school just to finish it..to make matters worst, if i got the answers wrong or submitting the work later than it's deadline, surely got whacked with a wooden long ruler.. at home, i got scolded a lot from my dad (as he was the best math person), till i cried becoz i cannot find solution for a simple question.. so i graduated my primary years with not a single B grade but a constant Cs..ok enough of that..

i started off my secondary years scoring As as far as i could remember for major tests & exams & maintained it to a more serious 1A till i ended my senior year, how did i do it? firstly, know your friends, i have a close friend who is the master in math, i learned (not copying) a lot from her. secondly, try to seat in the first 2 rows of the class, it some how helped me concentrate better. thirdly, do have the confidence to approach the teachers to obtain guidance & discuss your calculation problems plus do not be shy to ask questions, if not during class, see him/her personally after class. having a personal math tutor for one-to-one session too might help (i changed up to 4 different Advanced Math tutors, until when i finally pass & excel). fourth, do a lot of practice so that you are familiarise with variety of questions, twist & turns. try buying several known brand workbooks with a detailed answer sheet so that you can check the calculations, not just the answers. you can also buy math CDs if it helps to understand better, but practice is a must!

for revisions for test & exams, revise the lessons both beforehand before and after the class, write down formulaes in flash cards.. refer pass years' questions & try doing it then check the answers. GOOD LUCK !

Just concentrate is the main thing many will say but I say that meditation and Yoga can improve your skills and IQ.

Do the maths subject every day in the early morning. So that you can be getting thhe main concepts into your mind as early morning is pure.

I think this will work.

Always remember that everything there is to know in any subject is learned by getting the basics first. The basics will take you to the next step. Each step is a math problem that needs a solution. But what makes math tricky is that you have to remember what you learned from level one in order to solve the problems at level two. In other words, adding and subtracting is level one, including multiplication and division. Algebra is level two, but you apply your arithmetic from level one. Geometry and trigonometry is level three, but you apply level two, which was algebra. After you complete level three, you use it to solve the formulas in calculus, I can refer you to a tutor.
