Kobe is probably the best scorer in the game today, and can score over 40 points on any given night. But that doesn't make him the best player. The Lakers were a much better team in the playoffs against the Suns when he decided to share the ball and score less. As for the best player today I think Tim Duncan helps his team win more games than anybody else does with the least help. D. Wade also had one of the best championship series I have seen, and thats saying alot coming from a Mavs fan, but I would have to see him do it for more than 1 year before I would call him one of the best.

He is the best, and that's pretty evident...but you'll always have those naive naysayers who thinks he's selfish and arrogant. Jordan went through it at Kobe's age too, and can you believe there are still people that say Jordan isn't the best ever...
You know a wise man once said, "People fear what they don't understand, HATE what they can't concur"... take that into consideration... nothing could be more true.
And you know something else... that girl that accused him of rape dropped the case because she was obviously making it up. She didn't plan out her series of lies as well as she thought, she had to many holes in her story, got scared and dropped it. People try to bleed rich people dry for money every single day. Whether it's by extortion, through contracts, endorsements, or falsely accusing them of rape... the list goes on and on... that's why layers are a wealthy persons best friend.

I think the people that call him a rapist even though he wasn't convicted are pieces of garbage. They are the type of people that hung innocent women and said they were praticing witch craft or hung slaves.
