Nice question, I think its a close thing Zappa is probably the better guitar player.
I prefer Hendrix's song writing.
Don't forget Richard Thompson, Peter Green & David Gilmour also.

No. Jimi Hendnrix was a better guitar player while Zappa was a better musician. Zappa explored the cerebral realms of music and Hendrix just played some sweet *** guitar. Zappa was a musician playing several instruments and did vocals while Hendrix played guitar and hated his own voice when he sang.

He may be better in some aspects of playing however Hendrix
was so good for his time that it was sick!
Joe Satriani is awesome and he always quotes Hendrix as being a God like figure - so there you go!

Jimi Hendrix was a totally awesome guitarist, Zappa was a i guess you could call it a good all around player who could play alotta stuff and sang. Don't ya think. They are both sick. but there are only opinions to go by. yours, mine, and theirs. whose to know??

no I wouldn't. I was a fan of Jimmi Hendrix. He was something different in those days. Now as far as guitar playing is concerned.. Eric Clapton takes some beating. Have you listened to his new stuff.. he has gone from strength to strength.. Music is life!

No! no-one could get a sound out of a guitar like hendrix did, he could get a tune out off a hair clip.
