yes, the father should be there. If not for suport, then to see the heck his woman is going through. lol But yeah. I suport it. Also, other methods of childbirth are standing, the original on you back bit, and the water birth. Some people say that standing just makes gravity help you push and your weight isn't put on the nerves in you spinal cord, so you don't have sevier back pain along with being sore down there already.

I've seen water too!, crustacean method, natural, for certain conditions... there is a vodka or beer method and in some isolated cases I have heard about crack house delivery, it helps the mother stay high and not go into a frenzy.... I belive that in the later case the father, sigificant other (baby daddy) is already there too.

It would be nice if teh father of the child stayed with the mother. My mom stayed with her best friend when she was having a baby. After everything was over, teh friend of her was very thankful.
