Esentially it is an ironic title because zoe, does not die and killing her charater is not the intention of the bank robbery to begin with.
zed protects zoe from harm, and in the end ironically zoe saves zed from being caught.......
I would even argue that the title could have a more literary meaning........
Le petite morte........or the little death is the old metaphor for orgasm.
Since Zoe is a prostitute the title could be in refrence to giving zoe orgasms or rather killing her........
thats just one take though.
