or does America feel the need to impose upon the world the image that they don't let their "f*gs (and "d*kes)" run loose and do whatever they want, that they keep them leashed, so they can know where they stand, what their place is, and what subservient role they play?

not everyone believes in God. i think it'd be best if you don't go around insulting others for their own values and beliefs. it's not for you to judge, is it?

America should never allow "same-sex marriages". The term itself is incorrect. Marriage is a religious term for the covenant that a man and a woman make with God. There is no such thing as a "gay marriage".

God has been clear on this subject, since the beginning of time. God has told all of his prophets in each dispensation that homosexually is wrong, and should not be practiced.

How is it that there are some people that don't know this. No true religions on earth allow same-sex marriage. At one time or another, people will have give up on the notion that God is going to change his plan, just because some people in the media say it is o.k. It is never going to be o.k. to have sex with someone of the same sex. It is a sin, a serious one.

Seriously, It's not unclear. Even the current Prophet and 12 Apostles condemn the behavior, but not the person. Choosing a "gay" lifestyle is just that, a choice. You can change your mind anytime you want to. Don't let people convince you that you are "gay", you are human and you can choose to be "straight" or "gay". Choose wisely, the Devil's promises are empty. He cannot grant you salvation like the Lord can. Follow the Lord.

By the way, why do some people decide their identity by what a few people in the media say? That's pretty insane, don't you think?,even if you don't agree.

Central to our nation's understanding of God is that people worship in many different ways, and not only do their practices differ but so do their beliefs. So there is no one sense in America of how God feels abount homosexuality. The Political Right has kidnapped the religious right, to make gay marriage a central issue in this country. In reality when Americans at large are asked about gay marriage, a few more are against it than are in favor of it, but when you offer a third choice, "I don't really care," that third choice wins.

America dishonors the God I know every day when it lets children go hungry and without health care, while Cheney and his friends enjoy tax cuts. America dishonors the God I know when it sends soldiers (and God Bless them, each and every one) to war in a far off land on false pretenses, to honor the President's father, and make even MORE money for Cheney's friends. America dishonors the God I know when it clearly knows the damage we are doing to the environment and our government covers up the issue, so that Bush and Cheney's friends don't have to spend some of their money to stop polluting and destroying. And America dishonors the God I know when it allows the political right to make an issue of Love, deciding that one group of people should not love one another because they happen to be same gender.

I think large parts of the USA long ago forgot that 'separation of church and state' thing and have come to believe that God's laws must be man's laws.

I think that they believe that giving people the freedom to choose will make them 'less Christian'.

Most importantly, the Republicans are so hysterical about gay marriage because they recognise it as an effective smokescreen to hide the weaknesses and evils of their administration. By choosing a scapegoat and attacking it, they are only doing what people in power have done for thousands of years now.

The USA is probably approximately 10% LGBT. It may be as much as 30% homophobic or more. If you were an amoral strategic advisor, which group would you choose to reach out to?

This country was not established to honor God, nor were the laws of this country. It was established to honor freedom from the oppression of the Church of England and the Monarchy. The irony is obvious when we look at our current state of affairs. So long as people insist of blurring the line separating church and state these debates will continue. Being gay or lesbian is not a problem that is based in law, it is problem for individuals based upon their individual moral codes that are largely shaped by their religious beliefs.

I doubt America feels either, particularly considering that much of the Western world is bypassing the U.S. on civil rights for gays -- so since those are America's primary Allies, who would they be impressing?

I rather suspect that America has a wing-nut minority that struggles desperately to influence the moderates -- something that they are slowly losing the ability to do over the years, but which they still have some ability with. This wing-nut minority believes all sorts of things, some of them believe what you wrote -- some believe that the "ZOG" (another fantasy organization -- though not to the extremists - it means Zionist Occupied Government) is using the "gay agenda" and the gay community as a servant group along with the "mud-people" --- some believe that gays themselves are secretly getting close to taking over the country -- and on and on.

So that wing-nut minority -- hate gays, and as long as they have enough influence, they will continue to stop equality for gays.

Eventually, as the same wing-nuts have failed to stop every single group that they have gone after over the years - they will fail to stop the glbt community.

Thank you for the question.

We just do not want to be destroyed as Soddom and Gemmorah were . I have nothing against gay marriage as long as both chicks are HOT .When God said " Love thy fellow man ",I am pretty sure that he did not mean that anal sex is o.k.

Who is this "America" person? Geez! Why do people act as if 300 million people only had one mind to share between them? I think it's only TV newscasters who know what "America" is thinking. LOL!
