You are absolutely right. It's very difficult to find true friends as there is so few of true, loyal, unselfish people around.

I have been feeling that way for years. The few best friends that i have had over the years always ended up stabbing me in the back. The majority of them it was because i knew and got along with someone they were trying to get close too. I believe i only had one that did not. It was a real friendship. We laughed, we shared, we backed each other up. We got mad had a fist fight, 5 minutes later we are eating a pizza. We even had an agreement that no matter what happens between us, what ever we talked about stays private. Her family had to move and boom i am right back to square one. Right now i got very few but good friends but not best friends. I am very opened and honest but i hold a tight grip on extremely personal things. I never say anything that could be used against me in any way. I get too attached to people and it hurts when its time to part ways or just simply that they have found another person to pal around with. I wish i can have a lifelong friendship but lets face it is not going to happen with the friends i have now. I even lost contact with 3 simply by moving in the same city to a different house. You really can't fully appreciate a friendship until you have no one whom you could speak too freely with no fear, about anything no matter how intimate.

You have hit the nail on the head with taht one. I have lived in this village for years and I only have one true friend here. Every one wants to be your friend when they want some thing and when you need help they just **** you off. Just be wise with what you do of other people.

there's this gnawing emptiness in my heart
i don't know why
its that old feeling again
of being surrounded with friends yet feeling so alone
my heart's so heavy; its sinking
i find it difficult to breathe
i laugh but actually i cry
life's a stageplay
close the curtain on me
