It depends if we're more in need of freedom or security. I vote for the former, and so, say, "Courage."
"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." – Plato
"I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with his freedom." --Bob Dylan

Definitely courage becoz if u love someone but dont have the courage to express it its no use... but when u have the courage to love someone u will feel compelled to give it a try thats courage....in other aspects of life courage is more important than love....true love hardly exists these days...!

Love is more important, with out it, you would not have the courage to protect it.

Courage is more important than love. Because it takes a brave heart to love. Cowards are incapable of love. If you have love in your heart but have no courage, your love is useless and becomes a source of misery to you as well as to your beloved. . A courageous heart is brave, gallant, merciful, courteous and noble, and those are the traits needed in a heart to be capable of love.

Without question, Love is THE most important element of the human experience. True love originates from God, and all good things take root from love...including courage.
The reason I believe this is because real, true love is active, not passive. It is a verb, not a noun. To be experienced at it's deepest, most profound level, we must OFFER it, not bask in it. If the love is true, then it is other-centred, not self-centred. And when love is other-centred, it means that thoughts of the self are secondary. So when the needs of the other are more important the needs of the self, risk of one's self is a foregone conclusion. Voila: courage.
True love of one's self also implies acceptance of one's imperfections as being a part of the whole. It doesn't mean you have to like the imperfections or accept them as they are; but to love one's self means you should not settle for less than the best you can possibly be. It means a person should strive to polish and hone his or her better qualities, removing or improving those less desirable traits. This means that honesty about one's self and with one's self also stems from love.
"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." – Plato
I love this quote! This fear of the light, if you think about it, stems from fear that one is unacceptable in plain sight. Why would a person think this? Because they do not love their own selves enough to expect more from themselves than shameful, deceitful, selfish behaviour. It is quite simply a lack of love.
