I think the mideast situation will depend alot on Iran. They can be diplomatic and move for peace, in which case it may keep things from escalating, or they can do what I think they are trying to do and what there nutty president said they would do and attempt to "push Israel to the sea. The latter scenario would bring the USA into a military conflict with Iran and the mideast. What do you think?

Consider the history: The Persians had a deep culture that was supplanted by the Muslim Arab crusaders, who converted the Persians to Islam.

Khomeni comes in and professes his wish for Islamic domination of the globe; satisfying the Dar-Al-Salaam (house of peace, all souls have submitted themselves to Allah).

Iran's goals:
1. Dominant Muslim power in the world.
2. Wipe out Israel then focus on other non-believers who get in the way
3. Survival of their regime and supression of local protests
4. Iran wants nuclear power at any cost, because as Kim-Jon-Il has shown, its a perfect way to make demands and get immunity from US strikes.

Sad to see one of the finest cultures (formerly) in the world reduced to a poor Islamic Fundamentalist crack pot...really just a sad state.

Hi
USA's government trying to create a war to prevent Iran from what they call possessing Nuclear weapons (Although Iran says they're using it for energy purposes). Fine..let's assume and again I say assume Iran's trying to develop Nuclear weapons. We don't want that. The American government says they want the Middle East a nuclear weapon free area..then a natural question comes to every body's mind..Why is Israel allowed to possess those weapons? We all wonder ,arabs, americans, europeans and actually all humans. Why after invading Iraq under the name of democracy and removing nuclear bombs...After more than 3 years of destruction, detaining and killing of Iraqi Civilians..WHERE ARE THE SO CALLED WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION? there's no answer for that because it was just a lame fantasy created by the american government as an excuse to occupy iraq and steal their oil reserves. We differentiate and draw a distinct border line between the american government which is brutally biased and the just american people who are actuallt against the war and against the american govt unjustified actions. The Americans want their sons home from Iraq, the iraqis want the americans out, then why is the american army still in Iraq and when do they plan to leave. These are the intentions I ask about. The intentions of actions done already and not those unnecessarily feared of.
Infact the whole world should be nuclear-free..and America's on the top of the list because if my memory serves me well, their government and again I repeat govt (and not thenation who are against it) is the only govt so far in the human history that pulled the trigger and used nuclear weapons in Japan. No body else ever did that.

We all know what Iran's intention is regarding the State of Israel which of course is the muslim world's wildest fantasy - the raison d'etre for everything they, Syria and other fanatics dream of, work at and fail miserably since Israel was declared an independent state.

Don't expect Iran to move for peace - the word is alien to those blinded by hatred. For now they are happy wetting their pants fighting Israel through Hezbollah, Hamas in Lebanon, Gaza, Palestine. Barring UN-sponsored intervention in Lebanon I can only see greater involvement of Iran, Syria openly aiding the Hezbollah, Hamas militants in Lebanon - this is as far as both the rogue states would go. But if either one attacks Israel directly then all bets are off.

Unfortunately it's not good intentions. The intent of the extreme Muslim organizations are to as you say drive Israel and other western cultures (to which they despise) to the see. Their fanaticism believes that western cultures and religions are the snake to which the needs to be cut from so their 3rd century beliefs can prosper again.

At the moment it seems to be just an Israel, Lebanon problem instigated by Iran's lunatic president. If Israel can not conquer this attack, the world will have to step in and help it do it

Their current government wants to create as much trouble for the US and Israel as it can in the region, but not subject itself to any military strikes. They have been working on keeping the region in a slow simmer for years. In this situation, they can exert more influence than they would have if the region was stable.

What is Irans intentions?

'Is' is the third person singular present indicative of be.

'Are' is the second person singular and plural and first and third person plural present indicative of be.

Since the word 'intentions' is plural the correct question is,

What are Iran's intentions?

Just trying to help. Good Luck.
