Could the Isreali Government (with US backing, of course) be engaging hezbollah knowing that Iran is connected to Hezbollah....eventually giving a certain Country (ahem....USA) a "legitimate" reason to "attack" Iran should Iran decide to become involved....How convenient......what do you think.

Hezbullah attacked Israel first. Israel's attacks are a response to rocket attacks into Israel as well as to kidnappings.

No, you have it reversed.
Israel is exercising it's right to defend its self, in response to Hezbollah's engagement. Hezbollah prompted this at the direction of Iran and Syria.

USA already has a "legitimate reason" to attack Iran....well before these recent events

That isn't as far fetched as it may sound at first. If they can fabricate "evidence" to attack Iraq, then it doesn't seem too unlikely that they could forge a "legitimate" reason by using israel. All the US needs is a very small reason to carpet bomb Iran to hell.
