why should we slaughter pigs for food......i mean pigs are so adorable,we should put them on the same status as pets,right?

99% of people who say pigs are adorable have seen only half grown potbellied pigs or baby pigs. They don't seen the 800#+ pig that can and will take you down and kill you if it wants to.

I think the question should be, why would it illegal to murder, torture, and slaughter pigs, cattle, and chickens for food. Political entities make laws based on the ethics, morals, and needs of the people making the laws, and the people under the jurisdiction. In more democratically oriented states, that means the laws are based on the morals and values of the people as a whole. Before there would be laws against killing animals for food, you would have to have a country where many (and maybe most) people believed that killing animals for food was not a good idea and should be prohibited by law. I don't think this has happened anywhere yet, but it might some day somewhere.

Because Bacon sandwiches are one of the best foods in the world, it really winds up the saddo animal rights extremist vegans (always a good thing in my view) + all animals die eventually, so ya might as well put the body to good use instead of letting it rot away.
+ they aren't all that adorable when stood down-wind of a Pig farm *insert puking smiley*

Wrong...no one wants a standard pig as a pet. Some do have pot bellied pigs. Like cattle, they are raised for food and I refuse to go without BBQ pork ribs!! :)

Actually my great great grandad had a heart attack while feeding his pigs and they gnawed on him, to what extent, I'm not sure. Therefore I say, keep your pot bellied pigs, and give me the bigger ones as baccon for my pizza, pork chops, or ribs for bbq.
