Does the computer freeze or does your connection drop? Also are you useing a wierless conenction or a hard line connection?

If the computer freezes then it has nothing to do with your intrenet conenction but more likely with you ram...

If you have a wierless connection to a router then it's probably droping your connection. If I remember correct you have to update your IP adress to get that fixed.

If you have a hardline connection that drops you, then you need to call your broadband provider and see whats up.

right click on network neighborhood, then right click on your broadband connection (default connection), you've got your timeout setting misconfigured.
