Sharks like most other captive animals in an aquarium are hand fed. Hand feeding ensures the health and safety of all the animals and gives aquarium staff an opportunity to interact and observe species behavior.

Below is a link to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the only aquarium to ever successfully keep a Great While Shark in captivity.

They put fish in the aquarium that the sharks don't prefer. The same way you would put particular types of fish in your own personal tank.

I'd assume they don't. Though they may put types of fish the sharks don't normally feed on in there... But I'd assume the sharks pretty much do as they will. If other fish get eaten, they get eaten. I doubt anyone is going to dive in and get i nthe shark's way if it's hungry. ;o)

Just a thought... But I'd assume it would also be done via a regular feeding time, to keep the sharks "not hungry" enough that they don't decide to nibble on their neighbors...

So, I'd vote for diet control and feeding time control.

well u see, its comon for people to eat even if they are not really hungry, which is why the human raceis the only one that suffers from overweightnes. animals (sharks included) attack only if they need food, or feel indangered. so if the little fish dont act dangerously towards sharks, and if they are properly fed, sharks probably want touch the little fish.

They don't it's natural for sharks to eat other fish, they are number one in the food chain when it comes to the water. however they do try and minimize this buy feeding them and keeping them content so that they do not eat the other fish...
