My mother once told me that a child could be 'marked' if the mother was frightened by something while she was pregnant. She gave the example that a woman she knew had been frightened by a turtle while pregnant and that the child was born with claw hands like a turtle.

not sure if this is a myth but when I was young and this is still told to children that if you pee in the pool a special chemical additive will turn your pee red or green and you will be caught
