Probably because you’re too hard on yourself.
You probably have a general disposition of always trying to make people take you seriously..and that might have affected your general character in all things…
Which could make people perceive you as sensitive.

It might be because you're very intelligent and have a very dry sense of humor and can be very droll.
People who are not that smart, NEVER realize, that a person is making a joke and just have a very dry sense of humor.
The very funniest of types of humor. They don't get it. They think you're serious. It's a shame. They miss SO much.
The only way to remedy this situation, is to either dumb down, laugh after you make a remark or find smarter friends.

Hi,may be I think the way you fowarding is not in a good position.It is like this ,if you want to joke think what makes you funny and try to practice it.if you want to be serious ,think of it and talk to your heart and get the feeling that you are doing it very seriously.so that you can definitly bea person that everybody can understand.Good luck

Its a defense mechanism. You always want to leave yourself a way to back out of what you said in case someone didn't like it. You can always say, "hey, I was just kidding!" Or, you could actually just enjoy confusing people which would make you slightly sadistic.

Because you don't show a pattern to your jokes, and you don't show it on your face. Some people are just ignorant and wouldn't know you were talking if they didn't see your lips moving.
