there is no best music, people have different in opinion, so there is no best music so, i can say its rock but its not, there is tons of music, and if there was the best music everyone would like it

As you know, music has got a lot of kinds in itself, called Genres. I think it depends on what genres you like the most, because all genres are different and has got special charming in itself. Just depend on you what your personality is. As for me, I like Classical, Soundtracks, and Opera. I sense that these kinds of music are great, and nice to hear. But my friends does not like these genres. They'd like to listen Rock, Rap, or Hip-Hop. So, I have got no rights at all to force them, or just go toward them and say "Change your style of music! It's nervous." Of course, I couldn't do that, because they just like it. And I just like my genre.
It also depends on your manner ,and personality. If you are quite neat and shy, you might like Celtic, or Instrumental. If you are stylish ,and classicism, you might like Classical or Opera. If you are the one who is easy to know, you might like Lite-music, or Pop.
Personally, I dare say your personality, and your childhood effect you a lot for your genre of music. Got a nice listening, and be happy with the music. All the best.

Personally, I prefer 60s pop & 70s rock, with some 80s thrown in....
Also, rap is NOT "music"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
