Could be. I know that Spain was ruled by Arabs for 700 years right up to the time of Columbus.

No. Sicily and Southern Spain were ruled by the Moors, an Arab tribe.

yeah it was. they called it the dark ages. the arabs were called moors. why would this be offensive?
