Generation X

It varies what makes up a gen x'er, but common assumptions is 1961-1981.

So 40 would be 1966, which fits in even with the stricter 1965-1975 that some people use.

Generation O

That's because they came of age at a time when credit buying was at its zenith. Consequently, they will owe until they die. Then, what the still owe will pass on to their kids, who will be know as the Oxygen Generation, or O2.
