I grew up with a great cartoon series called "once upon a time... life" ("il etait une fois... la vie"). i love it and have been looking for years for a DVD/VHS copy of the whole series to buy. i even contacted Procidis directly, their distributors, and everyone i could think of who could sell either the original french version or the version dubbed in english (by the BBC). I have tried and tried, but apparently, nobody wants to make money. No reply anywhere.
some of my science teachers have expressed great interest in this, and i'm sure the orders would pour in, from the science department, if they got a look at this series. it is that good. but mostly, i want it because i love it and i hope to use it to teach my children someday about life the same fun way i learned.
a friend of mine, who knows all this, told me she found me a copy of the french version. i think it may have been downloaded through P2P (i'll know when i see the cds). should i take it?

Does Procidis still own the rights to the show? If not, take it! If so, make a petition to have them released. No harm no foul.

Yes you should, can't find it and it's not in production anymore is it? You are willing to pay for it and you just can't find it then take it. However if you feel that guilty then ask the company if you can just download it and pay them directly for the download.

Copyright infringement is taken very seriously. Have you not been reading the newspaper, or watching televsion news, about copyright infringement cases. Are you willing to go to prison for it?
