The first nurse I had (during labor and delivery) was so awesome...when I got my epidural, she gave me a big hug and let me hold on to her while they inserted the needle and she smelled like roses. Really, she treated me like one of her kids...I was so thankful to have such a nice, understanding, caring nurse. Shortly after I delivered, there was a shift change, so I got a different nurse. The other ones were OK, but not nearly as nice as this lady. This was with the birth of my first son...nearly 2 1/2 years ago, and I still remember her name...Judy. She rocked!

The majority of them, I liked. 2 of them, I wanted to smack. The first, was when I was in labor with my daughter. The birth was a bit complicated and difficult, as she was posterior (face up instead of down)...she kept saying things like "I pushed for over 3 hours with my first baby - you may be pushing that long!" and things like that when I needed encouragment, like "you can do this" She was so discouraging and made me so anxious and afraid. Totally not helpful. The second one gave me some really bad, discouraging advice. Before my milk came in, my baby wanted to nurse on me constantly. She said "you have nothing in there, she is just sucking for comfort, so you are doing this all for nothing"...when that was not true at all! My baby was getting collostrum, but I didnt realize it until later when I sqeezed my breasts and it oozed out...it made me so mad because it discouraged me at a time when I needed encouragment and what she said was not even true! Ack!

I've heard horror stories of bad nurses, but my personal experience doesn't refect that. The nurses at my birth were absolute angels. I couldn't have done it without them. I work with a lot of nurses now that I'm a doula and the vast majority of them are very caring people.

I had my son in a Canadian Military Hospital in Lahr, West Germany. In actual fact they were soldiers trained to be professional nurses. They were wonderful.

i liked her alot untill i found out that she dropped my baby. it took me 4 months to find out that my childs mental problems were caused by her. it took me 4 more months to find out where she lived. i then broke into her house and hit her kid in the head wth a hammer. an eye for an eye right?
