What does a "proof of pregnancy" look like?

I have afriend who says she's pregnant. Is there a copy of a "proof of pregnancy" form anywhere, so I can compare them. I highly doubt she's pregnant, but I want to be sure before I comfront her.

The best proof is an ultrasound picture showing the fetus. If she is truly pregnant she will have to have one at one point. Usually the doctors do one around 10-12 weeks to confirm the due date.

A proof of pregnancy normally is something that a pregnant woman would request from the doctor. If she's not on state aid, or not requested by her employer, most women don't get them.

They are primarily the same, no matter what clinic they came from. All they state is patient name, due date, and whether it's a single/multiple pregnancy. And then, of course signed by the doctor. If she had faked one, it's against the law to fake a form, or a doctor's signature.

Sometimes women lie about being pregnant, sometimes they'll miscarry early and people assume that they lie. Whether or not she's pregnant, she needs to concentrate on her own life, and her own baby. So, instead of automatically assume that she's lying, just be a good friend and be supportive in the meantime.

There are paper proofs from the doctor. However you are legally not allowed these due to the new HIPAA laws that protect patient information. Some folks tend to make up a pregnancy for some much needed attention.( I had a friend like this.) She herself might not be allowed to get medical proof (this is if it was done by a medical practitioner) unless she shows up in person and gets the proof. Doctors usually only send information to other doctors.

Umm I don't think there is a "proof of pregnancy" template or anything like that. Confirmations of pregnancy look different from doctor to doctor. Did you actually see the paperwork that she stated was from her doctor?

A pregnancy test could be a proof that she is pregnant. (Two lines indicate its positive) She could buy this in drugstores for a minimum cost. Directions in using this pregnancy kit is indicated at the packaging... it will just take her 5 minutes. Anyway, if she is pregnant and she's your friend ... just support her in every way you can. Real friends are there especially during hard times.

You won't know until she begins to show. If she is pregnant, she will have to be seen by a doctor. Volunteer to go with her, as no one would take it that far without it being true...or she will end up spilling her guts to you. If you have a stake in this; she can get a written slip from her doctor stating how far along she is...until then, there isn't much you can do about it.

I've never heard such a thing. Her doctor should have a piece of paper from the lab in her chart that has the results on it. It would either have hcg, then the numbers next to it, or have positive or negative next to it. You can't get the results of her bloodwork though...doctor/patient confidentiality. Why do you want to confront your friend...how does her pregnancy affect you?

usually for getting medicaid they require you to have "proof of Pregnancy" or a note from your ob that you are pregnant and when your due date is.

at our planned parenthood if you have a positive pregnancy test they give you a slip of paper stating that you are and their estimated do date. you then take that paper to your clinic or the clinic they tell you to go to get the medical help.

Why do you need to confront her? If she is pregnant, support her and be a good friend. If she's not, then it's an obvious cry for attention, and the first instructions still apply!
