Yes, there is a limit to our imagination, because if there wasn't then we'd have thought of everything possible to think of, but to do this you first have to know everything, which isn't possible for mankind as a whole because mankind isn't everywhere, which means mankind can't know everything because they lacked the imagination to be everywhere.

There are limits to your imagination. Your imagination is so vast it appears limitless. There is only a finite amount of information your brain has received over your lifetime. Therefore a finite amount of ideas. If you were to say it is infinite, then the finite amount of info you have received via the senses must repeat itself. You may not be able to grasp your entire imagination in one lifetime, but it is most certainly finite, as are your senses that witness the many things your brain fabricates into imagination.
There are limits to every aspect of your brain when you think about it. If you don't think about, then all things are limitless. They are all either one or nothing.
Who told you your imagination has no limits? What drew you to this conclusion? Why is your imagination limitless?
Everything and nothing are not objects of your thought. You are correct in this presumption, all be it limited, as I am limited. Everything and nothing just is, and you simply are. If not, you simply are not. Deny the objectifications of your thought, meditate, and in twenty to thirty years, tell me what you came up with. Or don't, as your language will do nothing to justify and/or complete your retelling of your enlightenment. If it is enlightenment you ever find.
Just look at some of the synonyms for objectify:
1) actualize, realize, represent, portray, reify, symbolize
2) diminish, reduce, simplify, trivialize
Conceptualization. Putting something into a box of incomplete understanding.

What makes you think there is no limit to imagination? When all the evidence show the contrary. For instance, we cannot imagine a world in peace (remember John Lennon song?) How much more limited can you be?

No, there is no direct connection between thought and imagination. The connection is tangential at best. Just because I can imagine a world without war doesn't mean that i can think how to create it. That world is an illusion until I can prove it so.

For some of us, only that which we have not encountered directly and personally. This does not apply to the small few who have leaps of conception, intuition, and comprehension of that which has not been directly revealed, or experienced, but, rather, deducted or inferred. Einstein would be a good example of this type of intuitive and extrapolative genius.
