What are some things my teen may do to get high, and how would you prevent this?

There are more things out there that a teen can to do get high that can be mentioned in this forum. You need to communicate with your child and have a relationship with them. That will help him/her make choices they think you would make. Be as informed as possible as to who your children hang out with and what sort of extracurricular activities they engage in. Pay attention to them and if you think they are rebellious and or doing something they shouldn't, talk to them. Don't try to be their best friend. Be a parent. It's your responsibility to educate them and take care of them to the best of your abilities.

Kids today will to whatever if they were determined.

As tough as it is to grasp, you can't be around them 24/7. Talk to your kids about drugs. But don't sound like your scolding them. Let them feel free to answer questions and leave your own thoughts open for feedback.

People give up on kids too easily I find. Don't worry, I'm sure you have good kids who will do what's best for themselves.

Find an interest, e.g. dancing, soccer, art because if the child is not bored, he/she will not find a need for such things

like jaime said, they can sniff glue n whiteout. some other kids use keyboard cleaner, chemicals, bleach, spray paint, air fresheners, then all the drugs that r out there. i dunno wat u can do to prevent it, if ur kid's a dumba$s theres no way of helping them
