Try finding 5 male or female names for each letter of the alphabet. IE...female, Amy, Amber, Amantha, Anna, Abby....Bridget, Brianna, Bethany, Beth, Barbra....etc.
Believe me, by the time you get to the letter P you'll be out.

go to neurologist or psychiatrists and he/she will give you some pills. they always work. Other methods have already been mentioned. If you don't like chamomile, drink some valerian or thyme tea. Go for a long walk in the forest or park before going to bed. a lil bit of meditation. I usually cant fall asleep without 4 pillows under my head. And classical counting sheep - havent been further than 273.. but every time you think of a number imagine one going through your sight. Read some boring medical or psychoanalytical literature.

just keep your eyes open and try not to fall asleep.Somehow the sleep wins than. It worked on me a couple of times.

Before going to bed apply some Vick's Vaporub on your forehead and nostrils , you will get sound sleep.

what works for me is drinking a 20oz bottle of mountain dew or sierra mist, i start feeling sleepy within 5 minutes.
